Strategies for Disability Equity, LLC was founded by Lisa Beaudoin to address the pervasive challenges of ableism and champion systemic change in policies and practices affecting people with disabilities.
With over a decade of experience in policy and advocacy reform, Lisa has led significant initiatives. Among her successes advancing systemic change includes the successful push for New Hampshire’s adult dental Medicaid benefit and insertion of disability relevant points in NH's Qualified Allocation Plan. Her consulting work combines strategic insights, advocacy, and actionable frameworks that empower organizations to foster environments of true equity, inclusion, & belonging for people with disabilities.
Lisa’s journey is both deeply personal and professional. As a mother who has championed her son’s needs for 28 years and a person with a physical disability following a near-fatal car accident, she brings a unique perspective to her work. Her background encompasses leadership in the nonprofit sector, specialized knowledge in Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), inclusive education, cultural competence in healthcare, and a recent certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Currently, she is writing a book on ableism to amplify her mission to elevate awareness and drive meaningful change at every level of society.
Forrest Beaudoin-Friede brings a wealth of experience as an advocate and consultant focused on dismantling ableism and advancing equity for people with disabilities. His advocacy began in high school, where he successfully navigated inclusive education to complete his diploma while testifying at budget hearings at the State House. Forrest grew his expertise through the NH Leadership Series at the Institute on Disability, gaining valuable knowledge about disability history, policy, and systems, while connecting with leaders.
A fierce and determined advocate, Forrest has defended Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act on Capitol Hill, spoken at immigrant rights rallies, and consistently engages with members of Congress to shape impactful disability policy. At the state level, he is a regular presence at the New Hampshire State House, serving as a trusted resource to legislators. Forrest’s dedication extends to national disability conferences, where he continues to refine his skills and build partnerships.
Rooted in lived experience, Forrest is a powerful voice for change. His work is driven by a commitment to dismantling barriers and fostering environments of true belonging, ensuring that equity and inclusion are more than aspirations—they are realities.
